The beach commences on the northern side of a rocky bluff then continues north along a mostly sandy beach for 2km. The beach is backed by a 10-15m high foredune for most of its length, with the Eden Beach development at the centre of the beach and vegetated transgressive dunes to the south which extend up to 2km inland up to Marmion Avenue. The beach receives waves averaging less than 1m, which maintains a moderately steep reflective beach.
