Gantheaume Point is a 20 m high red sandstone point that protrudes 1 km west at the southern end of Cable Beach. A gravel road runs around the perimeter of the point with views from the bluffs. Beach K 18 is located on the north side of the point and consists of a 300 m long strip of sand located at the base of the red bluffs, fronted by a 200 m wide mixture of rock and sand flats. The point is famous for the dinosaur footprints preserved in the rock. On top of the point are remnants of desert longitudinal dunes, now partly covered by the Broome Racecourse.
