At Point Wilson, the coast turns west into Corio Bay and then continues in an irregular manner for 9 km to Point Lillas. Between the two points are four very low energy, narrow beaches and tidal flat areas. The first is immediately west of Point Wilson and is on Commonwealth land. The second is on the east side of land-locked Snake Island; and the remaining two are inside an open bay to the west of Snake Island. All four beaches are usually calm, with the beach fronted by shallow, irregular rocks; sand tidal flats; and seagrass beds. There is no public access to Point Wilson and restricted access to the Snake Island beaches, which are backed by salt evaporators.

Swimming

Only possible at high tide on these essentially tidal flat beaches.

Surfing

None.

Fishing

Most fishing is done from boats over the sea grass beds.

General

Four very low energy beaches and tidal flats all with restricted public access.
