Stokes Bay is an open, north facing, 2.5 km long bay along the eastern shore of which are three beaches. The North Coast Road runs right past the centre of the bay, with a car park, camping area and café located immediately behind the eastern half of the first beach, while several shacks line the rear of the western half. The Stokes Bay Creek flows out in between. The first beach (KI-183) is a 400 m long boulder flat, together with patches of high tide sand. Besides the backing facilities, it is used to launch boats at high tide. A walking track leads along the eastern half of the beach to a broken headland, through which there is a narrow-tunnelled walking track to the adjoining main beach.
Beach Length: 0.4km
General Hazard Rating: 5/10
