Callala Bay beach (NSW 421) commences at Red Point and curves to the west, then southwest for 2.8 km to the lee of the rocky Callala Point, where it faces east. The beach receives low refracted swell, which maintains a low gradient reflective beach with seagrass growing close to shore. The eastern 1.8 km is backed by densely vegetated 150 m wide barrier that narrows to the west where Wowly creek forms a boundary with the western section, which is backed by the beachfront Callala Bay community, that continues south along the rocky point. The sheltered area in lee of the point is used to launch and moor boats.
Beach Length: 2.6km
General Hazard Rating: 2/10
