Narooma Beach (NSW 599) is the surf beach for the scenic and hilly coastal town of Narooma. The beach lies on the south side of Wagonga Heads, and trends south for 770 m to a low rocky headland, which is home to Narooma Cemetery. Rocks also occur in the surf in front of the surf club and dominate the northern end of the beach, called Smugglers Cove. Access is provided by a road to the centre of the beach where the Narooma SLSC (founded 1935) is located. Little Lake backs the southern half of the beach and runs out next to the club. A caravan park lies on the north side of the lake and car parking is provided on the road running along the beach, north of the surf club. The beach receives waves averaging 1.5 m and usually has an attached bar cut by up to six rips, including permanent rips against the rocks at each end, with the remainder shifting beach rips (Fig. 4.397 & 4.399).
Beach Length: 0.75km
